“A land without a people, for a people without a land”, or as the people who lived there liked to call it before being displaced and occupied: Palestine. Born in Jordan, Tala Bitar from Jerusalem, Palestine, grew up around the Middle East. Growing up in a few different countries, Tala tried building a home in each one but always managed to connect back to her roots and hold onto the Palestinian traditions, especially through art. Tala’s art work is a hybrid of old traditional Tatreez on top of digitally designed and printed photographs, created in a harmonious way to portray the crossover from old to new. Each piece is carefully thought through and stitched with love.
